Epic Games has announced an in-game tournament for the first weekend of February. Players who take part in the Summer Smash Cup will have a chance to earn the game’s first-ever competition skin. This skin is exclusive to this tournament and can only be gained by performing well in the competition.
However, only players on the OCE (Oceania) and Asia servers can take part in this tournament. To participate, you will need to get your Fortnite account level to 15. The competition will take place on February 1st and 2nd from 7 pm AEDT – 10 pm AEDT (UTC +11). Read all the Summer Smash Cup official rules here.
Gameplay and Rewards
During the event, there will be numerous match sessions that will last approximately three hours. Players can take part in a maximum of 10 matches during each session to earn in-game points. You can earn 10 points for winning the match, 7 points for coming in 2nd – 5th place, 5 points for coming in 6th – 15th place, 3 points for coming in 16th – 25th place, and 1 point for getting eliminated.
If you earn enough points to rank in the top 10% from all players during the Summer Smash Cup, you will win the Komplex skin pictured at the top of this post plus a Pickaxe and a Wrap. Players who rank in the top 25% will win a Street Shine Pickaxe and a Wrap. Lastly, players who rank in the top 50% will get a Paint Splash Wrap. Also, anyone who takes part in the tournament will get three in-game cosmetic sprays: Shaka, Rose, and Quokka.
I don’t play Fortnite, but I am sure all the players who do are really excited about this tournament. If your account is not already level 15, then you still have two days to get it there. To all those taking part in the tournament, Good Luck! May the best man/woman win.
