Samsung – the South Korean tech giant is allegedly going to launch its Galaxy Note 20 series along with Galaxy Fold 2 on August 5. The launch event will be online obviously due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that is spread all over the world. The news was confirmed by a Samsung Electronics staff member according to a Korean Newspaper named The Dong-A Ilbo. The rumours from this newspaper as well as on Weibo are often considered reliable. That is why we can conclude that these rumours carry some notable weight. Even though nothing is made official by the company, but we expect that it’ll be soon.
The news report claimed that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Fold 2 will release on Wednesday, August 5 2020. According to the report, “Internal discussions are taking place, but the plan to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5 is being reviewed favourably”. The smartphone owner is expected to confirm the launch date within the next few weeks. The event to be aired on August won’t be shocking as August is already been mentioned as the month when devices are officially launched by Samsung. Samsung usually unveils everything as early in that month as possible.
Also, as earlier said, the launch event of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Fold 2 will be online only. But at the same time, we expect that the event will be available in such a format, that everyone can easily tune in. In such a scenario, everyone will be able to see the hardware of these smartphones by themselves. As it’s being unveiled by Samsung.
What to Expect apart from Samsung Galaxy Note 20?
There’s a lot more than just these two smartphones to be revealed in the live event. According to Ice Universe, Samsung will be revealing the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet and a Galaxy Watch 2. Rumours also say that Samsung will reveal a 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip. This means that there’s much more than what we’re just thinking to be unveiled.
Recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy Note 20 will feature a 6.42 inch Full WQHD+ AMOLED display along with 120Hz refresh rate. Along with the Note 20, there will be Ultra model of the smartphone which will replace the previous Plus variant. Various leaks claim that the smartphone comes with triple camera setup. It’ll consist of 108MP primary shooter, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13MP telephoto unit for 50x zoom.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Fold 2 will sport a 7.59-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 2213 x 1689 pixels. It will also feature a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a UTG. It is also rumoured to have support for S pen. Finally, the cover display of the Galaxy Fold 2 is said to be of 6.32-inch.
