Camera Features of the Zeiss ZX1
As I have said that it’s now available for preorder, the main question is, why would anyone buy the ZX1 for $6,000? Well, obviously we can’t say anything of it until the first hands-on impressions of the final product. But what we surely know is that this camera is truly a game-changer. Modeled after the term, “Shoot, Edit, Share“, the Zeiss ZX1 is a truly innovative camera with an excellent position on all aspects of photography.
The ZX1 camera revolves around a full-frame 37.4MP CMOS sensor. This full-frame sensor lets you shoot high-resolution stills along with the 4K video recording. The sensor’s design is such that it allows you to shoot at up to 3 fps. It also has a broad sensitivity range of IOS 80-51200 that makes the camera suitable for working in various lighting conditions.
Apart from the 37.4MP CMOS sensor, there’s also a Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f/2 prime lens that perfectly pairs with the full-frame sensor. It is generally a wide-angle lens whose wide-angle field of view is suitable for a wide range of shooting applications, from landscape to portraiture, to reportage. With this unbelievable pairing of a full-frame sensor and wide-angle lens, this camera allows for intuitive and seamless shooting control, simple physical dials, and rings for adjusting exposure. It also employs a leaf shutter design for modest performance.
Design and Display
To fit better with the efficient imaging capabilities of the camera, there is a high-resolution OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF). Also, there is a large 4.3-inch rear touchscreen LCD. The EVF has a 0.74x magnification and Full HD resolution for a bright, clear view while shooting.
On the other hand, the large size of the rear LCD is quite impressive as the image navigation and in-image editing can be done quite conveniently via the built-in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC. The addition of this advanced editing app lets you make both local and global edits quite thoroughly. Not only will the app let you edit images in your camera, but it’ll automatically sync with Lightroom CC on your computer.

Talking about the design of the camera, it’s quite sleek and stylish. And it’s good enough to fit in the user’s hand. Also, the Zeiss ZX1 runs a variant of Android.
Other features
Last but not at least, to show your pictures off out in the world, the ZX1 camera features a bunch of connectivity options. The options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB Type-C connector to transfer files directly to an external hard drive. Not only does this camera offers connectivity options, but it also offers a built-in 512GB SSD so that you can easily save your images. This SSD offers a huge amount of storage space for your images, videos, and also to organize files into collections for faster navigation.
Price and Availability
The price of the Zeiss ZX1 full-frame Android camera is US $6,000 and £4,635 in the UK. The release date and availability of the Zeiss ZX1 is not known at the moment. We’ll surely update it if we get to know anything.
