Rising JavaScript Libraries and Frameworks

Front-end web development is always evolving. Every year, a new JavaScript framework comes and changes the way websites are created. In-demand JavaScript libraries and frameworks continue to change, but this constant change is proving to be annoying for front end developers. To keep up with the industry, developers have to continuously keep their skills polished and updated. Otherwise, they fall behind, especially since employers are always posting job ads that require experience with the latest JavaScript frameworks and libraries.

So, which JavaScript libraries and frameworks are popular now? Which is going to fade in a couple of years? And which are going to stay popular five years down the line? Let us find out!

JavaScript Libraries and Frameworks Trends since 2015

According to a report by Indeed, Angular remains the most common JavaScript library after passing jQuery sometime in 2018. It has been growing steadily since 2015 and is now listed in around 5% of IT job ads.

On the other hand, jQuery has fallen 30% since 2015, while Ajax fell 54%. React.js has taken a similar path to Angular, and just recently passed jQuery as the second most popular JavaScript library. Node.js has slowly grown in popularity, while the appearance of backbone.js in job postings has been cut down by 47% since 2014.
